This two-day Advanced Pulmonary Rehabilitation Course offers a comprehensive, evidence-based training program for physiotherapists and healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with respiratory dysfunction. The course provides an in-depth understanding of pulmonary pathologies, ventilation support strategies, radiological interpretation, respiratory muscle training, and advanced rehabilitation protocols spanning ICU, inpatient, outpatient, and home care settings.
Delivered by internationally recognized educator Dr. Samana Syed, this workshop integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. Participants will acquire hands-on experience with a wide range of manual and equipment-assisted techniques to optimize respiratory function and facilitate recovery across a broad spectrum of conditions—from chronic pulmonary diseases to post-surgical care and intensive care unit (ICU) rehabilitation.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of pulmonary anatomy, pathophysiology, and radiological findings.
Interpret chest X-rays and arterial blood gases (ABG) for physiotherapy planning.
Apply advanced bronchial hygiene techniques and postural drainage strategies.
Differentiate physiotherapeutic approaches for obstructive vs. restrictive lung diseases.
Understand mechanical ventilation modes and physiotherapy interventions for ventilator weaning.
Employ non-invasive ventilation strategies (CPAP/BiPAP) and oxygen delivery systems effectively.
Implement neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in both critical care and outpatient contexts.
Conduct respiratory muscle assessment and design targeted training protocols.
Structure outpatient and home-based pulmonary rehabilitation programs using the FITT principle.
Incorporate respiratory rehabilitation into musculoskeletal, neurological, metabolic, and post-surgical care.
